Whether you like the monarchy or not, you have to admit that Charles has mastered the art of the “civilized burn.” He didn’t even have to raise his voice to make a point that’s going to be analyzed by political scientists for the next decade.

This assumes that Trump was awake enough and intelligent enough to catch on to what King Charles was saying.

    Lol, KC…dare I say it, you’d be speaking French….

    Trump…sits there…huh…

that was a very humorous and respectful speech and an intelligent piece of diplomacy at a troubled time. absolutely no one was humiliated. as the US abandons ukraine and threatens old allies, a breakdown of communication is happening into which a number idiots have stepped, think fifa peace prizes and shared nobels. charles’ speech was infinitely more dignified. it is unlikely to change the path of self-destruction that the US has taken, though

  5. Well to bring the argument full circle:

Without the French, US would still be a British colony

Anyone displaying any sign of intelligence in his presence humiliates Trump.

There was nothing humiliating about the speech. It in fact was an excellent speech and a fantastic show of diplomacy.

  8. He lost the whole room when he mentioned the Magna Carta. “Who is that?”, they gasped.

  9. Soon to be labeled Low IQ King Charles, who’s Soft on Crime in a Failing Monarchy!

The fella waited 70 years to be in charge. He got all the experience that you can get in this kind of affairs. You cannot compete with him.

  11. No the orange one did it himself with out any help from the king, not Elvis.
He stated, basically. That Charles agreed with him ( the orange one) more then he himself did with himself! Er?. Are you telling me , that the man standing next to the king wasn’t the president but a body double?!?

If speeches become one of the metrics of winners and losers, the measured eloquence of King Charles stands in the starkest contrast to the venomous bile Trump spews when he opens his mouth. Trump speaks not just with a lack of historical knowledge, he does so with the oppressive ignorance of a tyrant. King Charles is, not just by what he says, but how he says it, the clearest of winners. Trump is equally the clearest of losers.

TBF Trump’s speech was one of the most normal ones I’ve ever heard him give.

Someone with incredible education and a brain with no embarrassing buffoonery, or asking to see the ballroom planning progress, or cheap gold leaf oval office.

    Never stop clickbaiting DailyBeast.

Every headline with “___ *humiliates* Trump” is a lie.

Trump is a shameless old man.

He also pushed for unending aid to Ukraine but the beast would not care about that

This headline makes a mockery of what King Charles actually said, and the point he was trying to get across. At no point did King Charles humiliate Trump, nothing of the sort. I have never been a fan of King Charles, but he did an excellent job for a brief time in uniting Democrats and Republicans, and bringing to light a few home truths.

King Charles was honest, factual, eloquent, charismatic, respectful and funny. Headlines like this cheapen what King Charles actually said, and what his whole purpose of this visit is about. Hopefully the sensationalist headlines with both Pope Leo and King Charles can stop, they are reductive, childlike, low class and just plain silly.

Trump the idiot that he is, takes these types of headlines and uses them as an excuse to exact some sort of revenge, he never uses the things being told to him by people like King Charles, as a chance to self reflect, therefore the true meaning always remains buried or lost.
