Reminder that the Florida state constitution explicitly prohibits gerrymandering.

This is America going back to Normal with the Southern states leading the way.

Has long been a racist country built around White European supremacist ideals. There was a short progressive break in the 1960s and we’re rolling it back now.

This is not a failure of democracy — a majority of White Men and White Women voted for Trump in 2016, 2020 and 2024, other people were willing to go along for different reasons.

Questions is how we change hearts and minds in the next generation? Get rid of the White Racist Oligarchy?

Now watch all the people who are calling the redistricting amendment in Virginia a power grab suddenly go silent, on this.

Every blue state should just remove every red seat at this point since maga is going to do it. After this next election when the purple states all go blue they should gerrymander permanent majorities like the red states have done in places like ohio as well.

  5. Forgive me for my ignorance here. I understand what gerrymandering does for the election process in the mid-terms but after the Supreme Court’s decision to gut the voting rights act , does that mean we don’t really stand a chance to take back the house in the midterms? From a democratic party point of view.

Florida, your government has failed you. The Governor is ONLY interested in how to appease the President. It is NOT about *just* voting for any Democrat, vote for Republicans if you want, but hell’s bells people; elect folks that want to improve YOUR life and not just spread MAGA.

Be really funny (in a good way) if narrowing the margins even more in GOP districts caused a landslide Democratic victory. I don’t think the GOP knows how many of their base they have screwed over with their policies and hate. Cracking only works if you can keep the margins high enough to win the closer districts. When you lose that along with all the districts you have packed with Democrats, you are truly fucked.

  8. Go on. Gerrymander Florida. Spread Republicans thin in every district. It makes it all or nothing. If we win, we’ll win big.

Maybe refusing to pack the court and sitting on the Epstein files wasn’t such a great choice. Without this ridiculous court and a DOJ actively suing to repeal every good thing done since the 1960s this wouldn’t have been possible.

  10. Black, brown people, and all minorities in between voted for Pedo in chief, now here we are!

Wonder if Maryland wants to reconsider their position on gerrymandering after this.

  12. Went on ask conservatives to see what they were thinking and my fucking god. Just love the idea of colorblind districting, and if it conveniently leaves certain demographics disenfranchised even better.

Florida is nimble, they will declare their constitution unconstitutional

  14. Them’s the breaks I guess. If only the was a way to make it law that redistricting like this needs voter approval like how Virginia did it

  15. Well blue states, you know what to do. Gerrymander every republican seat out of our states. We win this war with ease if we play on their level.

So constitutions are just…light suggestions? Nothing matters anymore other than keeping Trump in power? Lovely.

Looks like we are going back to the days of race riots.

Also, I’m wondering how the Latino and Black Bros will betrayed their own people and voted for Trump are feeling now
