Memorial to Victor Pomogayev

Viktor Pomogayev died on March 26, 2022 in Mariupol, Donetsk Oblast. The soldier is forever 27 years old.

Viktor was born in the city of Kalmiuske, Donetsk region. He was educated at the National Academy of the National Guard of Ukraine. Later, he served in Mariupol, where he held the position of commander of the convoy company of military unit 3057.

"He was respected not for his rank, but for his humanity. He was also appreciated by the higher management. He always treated the personnel with respect, he knew how to organize the service," said Sister Khrystyna.

"At home, he was a loving husband and father. He had many friends, he loved to repair cars with them," said his wife Margarita.

For eight days, the “Wave” position remained the front line of Ukrainian defense. On March 26, 2022, Russian forces launched an airstrike on the command and observation post. One of the bombs hit a building in the central part of the complex. 14 fighters were killed, including Captain Pomogayev.

The defender's body has still not been recovered.
