No parade? On Kuibyshev Square, the grandstands are being dismantled
And they were installed just a few days ago.
Regional authorities have revised their approach to holding May holidays. This was announced by the governor of the Samara region, Vyacheslav Fedorishchev.
“A decision has been made that, due to the current difficult situation, we will reduce the list and scale of public events during the May holidays. Municipal heads are working on this more closely. I ask residents to understand: security is our absolute priority,” the regional head said.
At the moment, the authorities of the Samara region have not said anything about events related to Labour Day. However, it is already known that Victory Day will be held differently. The grandstands on Kuibyshev Square are now being dismantled. And according to workers, the construction of these structures had been completed just a few days ago.
According to workers interviewed by 63RU, it took them about two weeks to install nearly 9,000 seats. The dismantling, they estimate, will take about half that time.
The grandstands are being taken apart by several crews working in different parts of Kuibyshev Square. The workers themselves are not entirely sure about the full scope of the work. They suggest that in the end, a couple of grandstands may remain in the center of the square, near the monument.
The stage located on the side of Chapayevskaya Street will also not be dismantled for now.
The editorial office of 63RU contacted the Samara city administration for comment. The city authorities clarified that the organization of the parade is handled by the regional government.
