Are you gonna lie down and be ruled by them ? Or are you going to be part of a real mass movement that can change things. Not Reddit tough guy bs , but real working class led revolutionary change.

I can’t wait for this to bite them so fucking hard in their collective fat asses.

  3. Seeing republicans today makes me wonder how it got passed in the first place. Or how we even managed to abolish slavery. How have we backslid so much?

If Democrats don’t head this off in the states they’re in control get prepared for the DOJ and Republicans to call blue state election results unconstitutional and illegitimate.

Thanks to the SC, all states have to rework their maps to comply with the updated standard.

A lot of people seem to think that Trump’s popularity amongst his base is the result of ‘brain washing’ by conservative media (i.e. Fox News), conservative ‘celebrities’, and Republican politicians. Hitler and the NAZI party are often used as examples of how a constant barrage of propaganda can influence the opinions of a large segment of a country’s population. Are millions of adults in the USA that easily swayed? Or have Trump and the Republican party enabled many Americans to show their support for the return to a society where white Christian males ‘ruled the roost’? In other words, do they feel that their perceived goal justifies the means, even if their fellow citizens and other people are hurt or killed in the process?

  6. The Supreme Court isn’t political, says man who props up the minority party every chance.

Over 400 years of slavery legacy has racism baked into white America. It will never leave. It can be contained and ruled over with the correct government structures and laws, but it will never disappear.

I had to look into the decision.

The VRA *is* all but dead. The difference was outcomes vs. intent.

The Supreme Court said as long as its partisan gerrymandering then its all good.

  9. It’s really not a good idea for a smaller and smaller minority party to be in consistent control of government.

  10. I just keep thinking about how this case likely was brought in the first place because some racist politician had a problem with Black people voting. How unfortunate is it that because racism and bigotry is becoming more and more prevalent under this current Republican administration that the entire country is being forcibly dragged back to the Jim Crow era by old White men who refuse to change with the times?

  11. >Republicans always want you to believe that they’re not racist “in their hearts,” that they just happen to prefer a set of policies that coincidentally result in inequality, oppression, and less opportunity for non-white Americans. But this reaction to the death of the VRA proves they’re lying. They hate Black people, and they hate Black people who have political power most of all.

Every Democrat should learn to speak with this sort of moral clarity, no matter how uncomfortable it makes Republicans feel.

We were fools to let them own the Court for 40+ years. We gave them a lighted match; it’s more surprising it took this long for this power grab

Power has consequences. Did we really think the conservative Court would keep respecting progressive legislation?

Evil people like being evil, they choose to be that way, they enjoy hurting others, especially when it’s done unfairly.

Proverbs 21:10 (NLT): “Evil people desire evil; their neighbors get no mercy from them.”

Proverbs 16:30 (NLT): “With narrowed eyes, people plot evil; with a smirk, they plan their mischief.”

Psalm 36:4 (ESV): “He plots trouble while on his bed; he sets himself in a way that is not good; he does not reject evil.”

Proverbs 10:23 (ESV): “Doing wrong is like a joke to a fool, but wisdom is pleasure to a man of understanding.”

Pretty much sums up everyone in Maga.

Lots of smirkers in office now. Can you name some?

  14. A federal overhaul of election law, to discard FPTP, is the only way forward. Racial protections was always a crude way to protect black voters. Letting map makers split up communities is bullshit.

We need to stop with half measures and assume we’re good. Incrementslism malfunctions when we rest on our laurels like the DNC of the 2000s and 2010s.

  15. The GOP has no morals whatsoever. Their cronies on the Supreme Court seem determined to give the political minority an iron grip on the future of the county through hook or crook and aren’t even pretending anymore.

Yeah cus they knew they have to cheat to win. Now they may actually have a chance for midterms.

They finally got permission to be openly racist in the South. They’ve been waiting 62 years for this.

  18. OpenImagination9 on

Well, black voters weren’t much help in the last election so instead of focusing on specific groups maybe focus on the issues that matter and attract all kinds of voters.

Identity politics only works for the racists.

  19. Off-GridForever on

Conservatives are the most controlling, self-centered, racist, and dishonest group I’ve ever seen. They won’t let people decide for themselves what is good or bad, no, they want to corral people in with intrusive laws forcing people to live according to what they feel is right or wrong.

  20. Imaginary_Ad_8260 on

Republicans stand for nothjng. They are just against everything. That is their position.

  21. skittlebog on

They are actively working to undo every bit of social and economic progress we have made in the last 100 years.
