  1. Hegseth is firing anyone who could stand up to him because he’s trying to consolidate power over our military. He’s also probably insecure about everyone he’s fired being *significantly* more qualified than he is.

When he falls, and he will fall, it will be glorious. I’m sure he’ll get some cushy, wellpaid job when Trump is out but he will be nothing more than a right wing prop for some MAGA licking company. There’s no way they’ll let incompetent Pete near any of important in that company.

  3. Let this be a lesson of the type of people who needs to be removed from the military posthaste if the military has any desire to regain its former glory and respect on this world.

I hope the folks writing up Project 2029 or whatever, are crafting how to turn these institutions back to what they were before they were fucked over and *making sure it never happens again*.

Nicholas Enrich who used to be the health director at USAID said on a recent interview on Pod Save The World that it would be quite easy to re-establish the best of the programs that were chopped by Musk’s 20 year olds.

All theses tasks and how to do it need to be documented so there is a clear plan – in the same way the fascists did.

Pete Kegstand is the perfect Trump underling. He is even crazier than his boss, yet loves licking his boots.

  6. America, WHERE are all of your whistleblowers?!

The insanity that has been allowed to go on … for a full decade without pushback from anyone but a couple of well-meaning Boy Scouts like Mueller and Smith is just infuriating and wrong.

Someone, for God’s sake, stop this!

We need the repeal the American Service-Members’ Protection Act and ship this asshat to The Hague for war crimes.

  8. I wanted to know more but without any comments and seeing DailyBeast… I’m not clicking so I’ll just go with more nightmare happening. God I hate how Trump and the Federalist Society has killed USA.

  9. Untouchable Pete is drunk on male alpha superiority via religion. He believes he’s entitled. This it’s how abusive behavior and callous disregard towards anyone different or disadvantage can begin.

  10. Can we stop reacting to sensationalist headlines from the fucking daily beast?

  11. The Republicans are putting only Christian nationalist, loyalist in positions of power and are starting wars to draft men of a rebellious age. It’s not a power grab it is called purging the military of leadership which follows the US constitution.

I always wondered what happened if you put a failed C grade entertainer whose CV includes rampant alcoholism and multiple instances of adultery in charge of something.

    Now I know.

I’ll take Daily Beast over the usual garbage from Jacobin and similar sites any day.

He is making it easier to force christian nationalism onto us. They want handmaids tale to be reality.

  15. What kills me this is literally what Hitlers people did, crazier and crazier things just to appease Hitler. I feel like I’m taking crazy pills in this day and age! Half the wild shit literally came from Hitler’s advisors and close general’s personnel all to try and appease him and gain favor!

  16. All I took from his responses was when they told him the war was not going as planned, his demeanor was “because of you” to whomever was asking the question.

You’re not patriotic enough. You won’t let us do our job. Etc.

It’s insane that a fox news personality has this much control. There’s no justification for confirming him. Hegseth it’s not in the top 5000 qualified candidates for this position.

Trump’s chief of staff, Susie Wiles, is said to be among those β€œfrustrated” with Hegseth’s moves. An unnamed official described the defense secretary creating β€œheadaches” for the White House and suggested he was in some ways mirroring Trump himself.

β€œThe president is always going to be the president. He’s always going to say and do things that cause chaos or controversy. That doesn’t mean it’s okay for everybody else to act that way,” they said.
