Trump blocks wind farms on national security grounds. Trump has halted projects across the US, claiming they are a threat to national security and the environment. More than 150 projects are on hold. They include the SunZia Wind project in NM, the largest in the US, which is almost ready to turn on.

Hahaha its soo funny that he is still extremely salty about his golf course in scotland.

  2. ”Trump, for years, tried to block an offshore wind farm from being built in view of one of his golf course projects in Scotland, but ultimately lost the legal battle in 2019 and his company was ordered to pay more than $290,000 to the Scottish government in legal fees. He’s made a number of baseless claims about what he says are harmful effects of wind turbines over the years, claiming they cause cancer, are unreliable sources of energy and lower property values. Trump is broadly opposed to President Joe Biden’s clean energy policies and has vowed to lift regulations related to U.S. oil and gas production, including a moratorium on new permits for liquefied natural gas exports and a rollback of Biden’s policies to promote electric vehicle production.”

”Trump has claimed for years that windmills have a negative impact on whales, telling an audience at a rally in South Carolina in 2023 they are driving whales “crazy” and are a contributing factor in whale deaths. He said in January wind farms “obviously” kill whales. There is no evidence to support a link between whale mortalities and off-shore wind farms, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association, which says “vessel strikes and entanglement in fishing gear are the greatest human threats to large whales.”

The man who kept classified documents in a semi public shitter is concerned about national security…

The guy is scared of seashells, so it makes sense he is scared of windmills.

I blame Republican voters. Sure, this is the actions of Trump, their guy. But there’s also the Congressional Republicans, getting their money for looking the other way. This isn’t a surprise. It didn’t take Nostradamas to know, in November 2024, that this is where’d we be today. No, this is the blame of those voters who, election after election, punch their ballot for Republican candidates.

Oh, and I reserve some ire for the huge number of citizens who, despite being eligible to vote, choose to sit on their hands and not vote, at all. Maybe this *is* the timeline we deserve.

Didn’t a judge recently say that national security is a non-issue here? And I’m pretty sure that, despite him saying otherwise, the noise from wind turbines does NOT cause cancer.

Threat to national security =/= threat to petroleum industry profits

He’s done this repeatedly and been taken to court. Our offshore wind in CT was just turned on after he stopped it midstream *twice*!  He cost everyone a fortune, it was in the billions. He’s an vandal. It’s very very expensive vandalism. I thought it was a miracle we finally got ours finished

Oklahoma and other red states are full of wind farms. Is he shutting those down? Is he targeting blue states?

Next, he should block the hot air spewing from his puckering mouth-anus. If that’s even possible.

  10. Unbelievable. Trump in his MAGAt Cult of USA hating shit-bags can’t destroy the country fast enough.

I work on a 120 mile wind farm in Wyoming. We are still building roads.

DJT is a national security risk. He, alone, is essentially handing global leadership over to China.

He has time to go to golf tournaments. He’s stuck in the 50’s and can’t see or plan for the future. Returning to his favorite county where he and Jeffrey terrorized children.

The United States elected Don Quixote. Not one MAGA would get that joke because they all hate reading

Sounds like another grift in the works, some way in which he and friends can mysteriously partake in profits

Seems like he’s in the pocket of oil gas and coal. Oil companies are making huge profits on the Iran war and he’s in no hurry to end it. What more could they want?

When shit like this is pushed through I want it mandatory they explain exactly what the national security risk is

We are literally living in Idiocracy. I cannot belive how fucking dumb MAGA is.

  21. jmpalacios79 on

Wind farms are a *threat* to the environment? And therefore they need to be replaced with fossil-based energy projects? Is there no end in sight for this unprecedented wave of sheer stupidity?!

  22. Western-Property-443 on

Trump wants to turn the world back to 1930. Any progress is against his beliefs. He wants to be like the kings and dictators who had absolute say over anything. Anyone who spoke up against his wishes was a traitor he could like away.

  23. jedi21knight on

What is his basis on national security? How are wind farms a national security? Can someone hop on and make it take off and fly around the USA?

  24. He is working for putin. Working really hard to destroy USA’s leadership
