We’ve spent 50 billion on a group of people who make up less than 5% of the population just over the last 5 years. We give them more than our military.
I don’t care that these are ‘settlements’ for lawsuits. The sheer scale of spending on such a tiny minority is absurd. I believe that every Canadian deserves equal treatment. Whether you are a first generation immigrant, a second generation immigrant, or a 100th generation immigrant.
Every person on this planet has ancestors that were wronged horribly by some government or another. I don’t go around claiming the US should pay me for what they did to my family in their revolutionary war. Or Germany for forcing my grandfather to flee the famine they caused in the Netherlands.
