Wtf? How can you degrade the education of a generation just for some football? That’s practically criminal.

A month?! Holy moly. They must reeeeally like their football.
Imagine all the double income parents trying to find someone to baby sit their kids while they are at work for a whole month.

>The official start of the next academic year would remain 31 August, he said, but said two weeks of “strengthening” learning would take place leading up to that date so students did not fall behind.
This is so stupid in so many different ways besides the obvious ones when you start reading the article

Probably it’s going to be safer for the kids to be at home. The world seems to be run by pedophiles

It is honestly pretty wild that the government is just cutting a whole month of school just to make room for a soccer tournament. I get that the World Cup is a massive deal, especially with Mexico hosting, but prioritizing that over kids’ education feels so backward. Parents are already struggling enough as it is, and now they have to figure out childcare for an extra month while the country basically turns into a giant tourist zone. It just seems like a massive slap in the face to families who actually live there.

The world cup in USA? I hope it’s the greatest shitshow of all times, as it’s fitting for current USA.

They cancelled month of school for handbags at ten paces? What is it with that lame game and it’s fans?

Why not just watch some games while at school?

For those that don’t know, basically our idiots in command don’t want tourists getting bothered by locals during the World Cup, and kids do generate a boat load of traffic… oh and some States want classes to be over sooner because of the heatwave, I can understand those cases. However they could still pull a classes from home scenario but noooo, that would be too difficult to do.

A week I could *maybe* understand, but a month is INSANE. Mexico aren’t even nearly as good as they used to be, these days they’re on par with the USA at best
