When every day we are prioritizing the wants of the few over the needs of the many I don’t see how else to look at it. We give the ultrawealthy more and more trying to hang on to their economic power while they increasingly invest their wealth in nothing but increasing itself while also preparing plans to jump ship or literally bunker down.
The “American empire” is every day more just a small group of extremely wealthy individuals that only care about themselves, not a nation that cares about ideals or principals.

China can have an opinion, but it’s never been actually demonstrated that a functioning global order is feasible with an authoritarian state at its center. China also underestimates the ability of the United States to re-invent itself when required.
