  1. The GOP is putting Jim Crow back in place in record time. It’s what they’ve always wanted.

  2. Heritage Foundation President Kevin Roberts — The leader of a conservative think tank orchestrating plans for a massive overhaul of the federal government (Project 2025) said that the country is in the midst of a “*second American Revolution*” that will be bloodless “*if the left allows it to be*.”

This was quite literally the plan this whole time.

  3. Hey Californians – In-N-Out is setting up a massive office and operation in Nashville that the Tennessee Governor loves to show off. Maybe they need to be boycotted until Election Day.

the memo makes it sound like they’re stripping all dems from committees, not just specific ones. the tenn gop is a special kind of nasty

No taxation without representation. I hope everyone remembers what happened

Republicans have been waging the second US Civil War for years. When will the rest of Americans wake the fuck up?

The fantasy was always to go back to the segregation culture. Democracy? They never got around the concept.

  8. I can’t wait for us to round up and kneecap every Republican. Then deny them medical care.

I’ve yet to talk to a racist or bigot who thought they were anything but reasonable in their beliefs and who didnt have some sort of justification or rationalization for their bigotry.

All I heard from Republicans for YEARS has been that racism was dead, and Obama was the real racist. Now that the thing stopping racists from being racist is gone the first thing they do IS BE F’ING RACIST. But, I’m sure they’ve all got their talking points about how this is actually dems fault and not racist in any way.

  11. The aeticle says they were interlocking arms to block areas and using noisemakers on the floor to disrupt the state govt. I’ve heard of ppl on Jan 6th who disrupted congress and they are believed to be domestic terrorists. What makes these lawmakers actions any different if they are also accused of disrupting government?

If you “good white folks” think they’ll stop at Jim Crow, I got a bridge to sell you.

  13. I don’t think I’ve ever hated something as much as Tennessee Republicans hate America.

  14. I’d like to take this moment to remind people of the general effects of having Democrats in power.

Americans in blue states live longer than those in red states. Here’s a study from 2020 studying the link between Democrat policies and increased lifespan: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC8053253/. Americans in the states with the longest life expectancy live about 5 years longer than those with the lowest life expectancy. The states with the highest life expectancy have long histories of voting for liberals. Here’s an article about another study from 2022: https://www.usnews.com/news/health-news/articles/2022-10-31/liberal-state-policies-tied-to-lower-mortality-rates-study-shows.

Blue states give back more money to the federal government than they receive, while red states take more than they give. https://time.com/7222411/blue-states-are-bailing-out-red-states/. Red states are on average more dependent on financial help from the federal government compared to blue states. If the federal coffers vanished tomorrow, then blue states would be better at financially supporting themselves without welfare.

Red states have more murders than blue states: https://www.thirdway.org/report/the-21st-century-red-state-murder-crisis.

The American economy as a whole does better under Democratic presidents than Republican ones, with improvements in areas like job growth, wages, and inflation. https://epiaction.org/2024/04/02/economic-performance-is-stronger-when-democrats-hold-the-white-house/.

Obama’s 2009 Recovery Act kept 9 million Americans from slipping into poverty in the face of the Great Recession. Most of these Americans were in working families without college degrees. https://www.cbpp.org/blog/obamas-and-the-safety-nets-anti-poverty-achievement. Meanwhile, in 2019 manufacturing under Trump was going into a recession. https://markets.businessinsider.com/news/stocks/the-manufacturing-sector-just-fell-deeper-into-recession-ism-pmi-2019-12-1028730787. In 2025, business bankruptcies were at at 15-year high because of Trump’s trade policies. https://www.the-independent.com/news/world/americas/us-politics/corporate-bankruptcies-increase-trump-trade-wars-b2890965.html.

Worker fatalities are lowest in Democratic states, which have strong laws for workplace safety. https://advisorsmith.com/data/most-dangerous-and-safest-states-for-workers/. Meanwhile, Republicans are pushing laws that will put children into the workforce: https://www.pbs.org/newshour/politics/some-lawmakers-propose-loosening-child-labor-laws-to-fill-worker-shortage.

The GOP is giving up even the smallest chance of having good outcomes for Americans like these, because they would rather have their ideology.

The main function of conservatism is to preserve a privileged place in society for a specific group of people.

  16. Prophetic_Reaver on

Taxation without representation and a tyrannical government. People who hate the second amendment need to get comfortable fast if our politicians are going to keep playing these games.

Sadly a lot of people who already bear that right are also feckless. Or at the very least easily coerced and simple. Can’t even see the writing on the wall.

  17. What is the recourse for violence by state governments? If legal ways are blocked then, are Republicans hoping for a response in kind?

  18. Correct-Branch9000 on

The traitors responsible for this disgraceful conduct need to be arrested and immediately tried and imprisoned for their treason. Enough of the treason. There needs to be accountability.

Americans are too lazy. You are allowing this to happen. Stop asking for other people to deal with your problems. The founding fathers knew this could happen and built in protections against it, enabling you to stop it, but you have to have a spine.

  19. How long do you think before we start hearing that Southern trees are bearing a *strange fruit* again?

  20. The stupidity of this is astounding. Nothing will do more to motivate people to vote.

  21. Do you guys remember when the TN House removed Jones and Pearson from office because they participated in gun violence protests, and then they both got re-elected immediately

(They also proposed expulsion for an old white lady who participated in the same protests right along with them, but spared her for “some reason”)

  22. They are some AH muthaf out there in TN clanning their way through politics.

What a bunch of fucking bastards. “But not about race” they say with shit-eating grins on their faces.

  23. This is exactly why we fought the Revolutionary war. Taxation without representation. These lawmakers were legally elected to represent their voters and now they illegally barred from that.

  24. AndreLeGeant88 on

They disruptive the “democratic” process of stripping black people of their representation in Congress so now are being punished by being stripped of the powers of their office. Totally democratic and not racist. Tennesseeans need to fucking VOTE. Many areas have turnout in the 40s and primary turnout in the 10s
