“it’s cancelling a major natural gas plant meant to power its “Project Jupiter” facility in New Mexico. … Instead, the company is partnering with Bloom Energy, a company which produces [solid oxide fuel cells](https://www.sciencedirect.com/topics/engineering/solid-oxide-fuel-cell), which convert chemical energy directly into electricity without combustion.”

I’d like to point out this still consumes methane and creates CO2 emissions. The lack of a combustion process is only helpful in that it cuts SOx/NOx emissions.

This still promotes fossil fuel extraction and huge greenhouse gas emissions and should be made illegal. No data center should run on anything except renewable energy.
