Let’s not pretend that it’s not by design. Yes democrats are leagues less evil than republicans, but they are still bought off and sold to the highest bidder all the same. Unfortunately until we have a system that shields our politicians from money influencing them to inaction on topics like this then we can’t expect change. Even a stock trading ban would go a long way, these politicians are far from dumb they know taking action on climate change is bad for their own investments.
The truth sucks, but the average voter doesn’t care about climate change, and talking about it too much hurts electability. Voters ranked it 24 out of 25 in a poll for most important issues. People only care about their own pocketbook, that’s it
