Honest question, how is it getting solar panels? I thought there was sanctions and blockcades

  2. > The speed of the solar surge has been startling. China exported around US$3 million of solar panels to Cuba in 2023; that figure rocketed to $117 million in 2025, according to Ember.

It’s actually an insane increase in 2 years. Curious what their 2026 orders have been like so far, guessing it’ll eclipse 2025.

This is the end of petro states. We will be drowning in oil in a decade.

Any chance the debacle in Iran will prevent Donald from invading Cuba before his term is up?

  7. Hey, don’t worry. We’ll wipe it out with our next air campaign.

We’re getting the worst of Chinese surveillance totalitarianism and the worst of rugged individualism where we have to deal with the externalities of the greediest among us with none of the benefits.

Isn’t crazy that after all this, Trump is ass backwards pushing the world towards renewables? It’s probably the first time his sheer incompetence has turned something towards the better

Even with Soviet Union’s massive support, Cuba’s economy mostly sucked. It’s going to continue even if China supports them.

They have been able to trade with most of the world for decades, yet were unable to do anything. My country, Canada, has reestablished trade with Cuba in the 1970s, but they still remain completely unproductive.

It’s funny how communism always needs other people’s money, especially capitalists’ money, yet remain wholly incapable of producing anything of value by themselves, while the opposite is not true at all.

Ironically, invading the strait of Hormuz helps a ton of small nations pivot all their resources towards renewables.

    Great job I guess.

  12. Unfortunately, only a few (usually people who have relatives living abroad, mainly in US, and receive aid from them) can afford to install solar panels and lithium batteries.

The large majority of the Cuban people is suffering from lack of energy and basic needs. This has only become worse after USA latest executive orders to close the grip on the already perishing Cuban economy.

I love how the world just pivots away from Trump and America. Honestly, Trump has revealed how cowardly, weak and unintelligent Americans are.

Trump is the epitome of every action having an equal or opposite reaction when it comes to foreign policy.

    That’s it!!!

Trump’s closing the Straight of Hormuz, leveraging Venezuela & choking Cuba of oil?!

Do you know what this means?!

Trump’s a closeted environmentalist! He’s been secretly plotting to get the world over it’s addiction to Oil!
