    >The post-pandemic surge in Canada’s youth unemployment rate has never been seen outside a recession and was even higher than rates seen during downturns in 1981, 1990 and 2008

I’m glad the Liberals are going to help out these kids by reducing the Temporary Foreign Worker population by …checks notes…. [giving TFWs Permanent Residency!](https://streamable.com/jg8hka)

Man its a good thing wab is doing such a great job. I heard his government asked Ottawa several times to bring in ton of more immigrants. Not like property prices have exploded and so has cost of living due to the population increase.

It’s all over Mb! One of my kids is working a job they despise and putting up with abuse, only staying because they know there’s nothing available in our community and their friends can’t find anything either. My other two kids cannot get hired anywhere. It’s ridiculous that they thought bringing over fast food workers from a different continent was a solution to something (not sure what). I also cannot get a doctor and we are priced out of our dream retirement home. These three things are related!

Saw a statistic that a bunch of young Americans escaping the states are going to Canada. Don’t recall the numbers, but Canada has a welcoming immigration policy.

  5. So there’s no blame on the businesses and corporations that look for every avenue to lower their labor costs because someone else needs to get richer. We just accept the state of the world and blame our labor problem on the immigrants that do the labor for cheaper because the business isn’t willing to pay the rising minimum wage for Canadians. Canadians don’t do the work at the lower wages, for a number of reasons, someone will, unfortunately. Our world is so messed up when we are just ok blaming everyone but the businesses and corporations, the CEOs, the shareholders, the profit above all approach. Capitalism is disgusting.

It’s going to be fun when they realize that their own community is not even planning for their youth to have a seat at the table. The table in this case being gainful employment/housing/Healthcare, etc..

I mean, not only was the seat taken away, the space at the table was filled in by everyone shuffling to fill the gap.
