Although they always fought against Arakan Army too, ARSA and [other groups ](https://www.reuters.com/world/asia-pacific/myanmars-frontline-rohingya-fighters-junta-face-common-enemy-2024-09-06/)actually [forged an alliance ](https://www.crisisgroup.org/rpt/asia/south-east-asia/myanmar/339-breaking-away-battle-myanmars-rakhine-state)with the Myanmar military since February 2024 and provided Rohingya conscripts to the army. From then on, they now exclusively fight AA and spread rhetoric about how AA will continue the genocide. They all recruit child soldiers as well ([page 17 of this UN report](https://docs.un.org/en/S/2025/247)).
These factors seem to largely stem from the efforts of one man, [Dil Mohammad](https://www.dhakatribune.com/world/south-asia/373800/dil-mohammed-the-smuggler-shaping-a-war-in-arakan), who has connections to the Burmese intelligence agencies. Now, many [Rohingya Gen-Z ](https://www.rohingyarefugee.news/p/rcpr-abdul-halim-and-the-unravelling)are rallying against Mohammad for his alleged connections to deaths and missing persons cases.
