$10 it all goes into his slimy pockets because he is his own greatest ally and the most unfairly prosecuted man of all time.

So can the judge just throw this ridiculous “settlement” out or what?

Corruption in plain sight. There’s no other description. Trump sues for an outrageous sum, only to settle for outrageous monetary payouts (funded by tax payers) for his friends and allies that broke many laws.

  4. More 🤬 trash from the most corrupt administration in history! The amount is $1.776 Billion… because ‘Merica 🤦‍♂️

  5. It’s jaw dropping corruption even by Trump standards. There is no way this passes judicial scrutiny though.

  6. CyrusBuelton on

Holy shit, Trump supposedly won’t receive any of the money per the Justice Department.

I’m not sure I believe that, but we’ll see.

  7. Lonely_Noyaaa on

The acting AG says this is a lawful process for victims of lawfare. But who decides who counts as a victim? The guy who just dropped his own lawsuit? This is just a slush fund for Trump’s inner circle, plain and simple.

We need to remember that these people brutally attacked cops.

People died and suffered lifelong injuries not to mention psychological trauma.

These people are awful anti American traitors and Trump is rewarding them.

    This is not okay.

2B when there are cuts to SNAP, Medicaid and programs that actually help society?

Trump was impeached for inciting the 1/6 insurrection and many of his supporters were charged and incarcerated for their involvement in the insurrection, yet the DOJ is allowing him to steal OUR money to appease that insurrectionist pedophile.

He needs to be impeached and removed from office NOW. This is blatant corruption.

  11. The Injustice Department just rubber stamps whatever the orange dipshit wants.

Going to point out a few things from the DoJ release that are meant to protect Trump and blatant corruption:

    >*They have agreed, in exchange for the creation of this fund, to drop their pending lawsuit with prejudice, and also withdraw two administrative claims including for damages resulting from the unlawful raid of Mar-a-Lago and the Russia-collusion hoax*

This is to avoid those two cases from actually going to trial and discovery which would undermine Trump claims and allow the illegal actions he committed. Trump will now continue to point to these two events and say “See I was right, why else would my personal lawyer settle with me then?!”

    >*The Fund will receive $1.776 billion and will come from the judgment fund*

Because trump wraps his corruption in an idiotic display of *nationalism* the fund is given the amount that is 1776.

    >*The Fund shall cease processing claims no later than December 1, 2028.*

Because of the current actual weaponization of the DoJ they will make sure all funds are removed after Trump is out of office. Just another great example of the actual intent of this fund.

    >*There is legal precedent for such a Fund, most notably the “Keepseagle” case where the Obama Administration created a $760 million fund to redress various claims alleging racism against the federal government over a period of decades.*

They equate decades to centuries of racism as the same thing as being held accountable for legitimate crimes. Also they try to shift blame towards Obama per usual.

    >*The Fund will consist of five members appointed by the Attorney General. One Member will be chosen in consultation with congressional leadership. The President can remove any member, but a replacement must be chosen the same way as the replaced member was selected.*

Only one non trump appointed individual who can be fired at will of the president. With the members directly controlling the money and who gets it.

I predict at least two Trump family friends, Blanche, Lutnick, and a GOP stooge up until the mid terms and then the fifth member will be constantly fired to remove even that oversight.

Compensation Funds are not something the DOJ can unilaterally do as it’s involving taxpayer money from the US Treasury. For example, the 9-11 Victims Compensation Fund was set up by Congress and had a Special Master to oversee the handling of cases and reported to Congress.

Once again showing Trump doesn’t give a shit about the Constitution, balances, procedure, etc. Just impulse and chaos. Everything is upside down is right side up… and shame on Blanche for going this far on this ride. I hope he falls down the same path as all the other lawyers who got disbarred from the 2020 election lie shit.

This is the new standard of how Republicans have been grin-fucking Americans since Nixon. How every one of us isn’t seething about this is beyond comprehension.

  15. californicating on

This is grift at taxpayer expense.  If a Democrat did this the Republicans would try to dissolve the nation.

$1.7B if distributed evenly to approximately 1600 January 6 insurrectionists prosecuted works out to about a $1M apiece payout to ensure that another mob will jump at the chance to do it again.

“It was going to be $10 billion gift directly to me. But instead now it is $1.7 billion for all the people that helped me con the American people. I saved the tax payer $8.3 billion. What a deal!”

And you know who is an ally of Trump? Donald Trump, and maybe a couple of his kids.

  18. He’s not even hiding the corruption anymore. This a slush fund so he can dole out rewards to his supporters. Despicable. These are my tax dollars he’s raiding …

  19. buffalotrace on

This is not justice. The lawsuit would not have won and was baseless. It would have been thrown out. This is theft.

  20. He sued for something that happened under his former administration and instructed his current administration to settle the case without going to court by paying himself $1.7B of taxpayer money

  21. TheGOPisTheDeepState on

We need to seize Trump, his cronies, and the GOP deepstate oligarchs assets from stealing and selling our country for their own gain.

  22. Steel-Tempered on

Donald Trump’s DoJ makes a deal with Donald Trump’s IRS/Treasury to give taxpayer money to Donald Trump’s political allies. Total corruption in action.

  23. In the United States, there are roughly 161 million individual income tax returns filed annually. However, due to standard deductions and tax credits, only about 111 million of these filers end up having an actual federal income tax liability, while the remaining 50 million returns owe no income tax. If my math is right, every single taxpayer with a income tax liability just sent him $15.30.
