  1. The problem, of course, is that only the Dems are attacking this. The GOP complicitly has been silent.

Every single democrat needs to bang this drum non-stop.

Trump stole OUR money to make a slush fund for conmen, billionaires, and the elite.

    >The Treasury, which now has to deposit the eye-watering sum into an account controlled by a five-member commission hand-picked by Blanche, declined to explain Morrissey’s exit.

    This is unconstitutional.

    >**Article I, Section 9, Clause 7 (The Appropriations Clause):** States that “No Money shall be drawn from the Treasury, but in Consequence of Appropriations made by Law”. This requires a literal act of Congress to allocate funding.

trump’s criminal defense attorney, Todd Blanche, has now invented a mechanism for embezzling money from the Treasury. They won’t even disclose where the money is going:

    >The Beast also reported Monday that recipients of the payouts—and the sums they pocket—[will be kept hidden from the public](https://www.thedailybeast.com/jaw-dropping-details-of-donald-trumps-17b-maga-slush-fund-exposed/).

If you think they’ll stop at just $1,776 billion (a clearly absurd number, openly mocking the country), I’ve got a trump phone to sell you.

These motherfuckers. THIS Is why he resigns, but all other corruption and fascist was just fine.

  5. THEFT! It’s THEFT! The president of the United States is committing open theft. The MF is stealing $1.8B from us. Enough with the “grift” sh*t. He’s stealing.

Top news on foxnews.com: Newsom stole money for California from federal government during covid. No – I’m not joking.

Let’s play the game: “What would the GOP do if a Dem pres pulled the same stunt!”

Are they giving this money to people convicted for Jan 6th? That’s a little over a million dollars per person. Though I’m sure a lot of that would go to Trump and his friends too. Still I’d love to see the public reaction of 1600 or so people convicted of trying to overthrow the government getting a shit ton of money for it. Especially from the maga morons who weren’t able to make it

In culpability over the grift. If the next US government doesn’t send soldiers hunting the corrupt, there soon won’t be any money left unstolen.

When you don’t stop a criminial after they get caught the first time, they realize they can do MORE. So they do. They’ll keep pushing the envelope until someone stops them. Nobody has stepped up.

  11. He didn’t quit in disgust. He quit to cover his own ass and probably salvage is future career

  12. But I thought all the J6ers were antifa or FBI plants? So the fund is paying them?

  13. Critical-Load-1452 on

People keep arguing over the amount like that changes the underlying behavior.
Corruption with a discount sticker is still corruption

There use to be separation of the DOJ and executive branch. Remember when AG Loretta Lynch boarded the plane to talk to Clinton?

Trump tweeted that “Bill’s meeting was probably initiated and demanded by Hillary,” without offering evidence of that. “Does anybody really believe that meeting was just a coincidence?” he asked. The Clinton campaign declined to comment on Lynch’s remarks.

America is a big fucking joke at this point. Its just stupidity all around.

  16. Appropriate_Brick608 on

It will be funny when its deemed unconstitutional and the IRS just takes it all back.

  17. we_are_sex_bobomb on

A judge will rule that this was unconstitutional, Trump will appeal it, it will be tied up for years in court but they won’t make him give the money back while they figure it out so he might as well just spend it.

  18. I doubt he quit because he has morals. More likely he was left out of the beneficiaries and is sad.

  19. Mach5Driver on

Sorry, dude, it’s WAY too late to reclaim your professional dignity. You placed it on the Trump Altar and set it ablaze like everyone else who associated themselves with the slimiest, sleaziest “human” in U.S. history.

  20. Zestyclose-Height-36 on

why is trump not spending his fake “settlement” on his ballroom?

  21. clockwidget on

You sure he quit in disgust? It seems obvious that the rotating cast helps them avoid accountability. I’d say his job was done and now he’ll go back to private practice and reap the rewards.

  22. Andurilthoughts on

Why are people still surprised? We know who this person is. We’ve seen it. Is it propaganda? You only know the version of him from Fox News so when he asks you to do something heinous it blindsides you?

  23. To be clear, if this all actually gets done, the insurrectionists are now a publicly funded private militia with no legislative oversight.

It’s $1.776 billion. Get it? 1776. Everything is cringe and pathetic with this admin

  25. Smokin_belladonna on

Well, I’m glad that blatant corruption at least makes the headlines today.

Typical data breach lawsuit settlement today: $2,500 to $5,000 per person.

They have gave up on holding him accountable they are going to try and hang onto power illegally

That can’t be the reason.  Surely his lawyer lacks scruples and decency.

Joke country run by criminals. All post-ww2 international good will and cultural cache undone in 18 months

  30. TheBigMoogy on

Why is it that even the people that are “disgusted” by him or are in opposition don’t do shit? If they’re the one opposing why the fuck quit and let some sycophant take over? It keeps happening, the people outraged quit and let his stooges take over.

  31. For those that didn’t catch it, the grift isn’t $1.8 billion, it’s $1.776 billion. No, I’m not kidding. He can’t help but mock everyone while reminding them he is no different from being king of the US.

  32. It’s unlikely there was any disgust involved, after all look whose lawyer he is. 🙄 He did his job there, made sure this massive scam got over the finish line, and now is getting out while the getting is good before the next administration gets in, criminal lawsuits start rolling out and heads start going up on the chopping block. He’s quite wisely going to take all of his under the table payments and disappear.
