Should be more. Tired of letting billionaires have tax dollars to hurt working class people while we get pennys in money when our rights are violated.

  2. Aside from 1stA. This case begs the question, how does a state or local government claim to have jurisdiction over what is posted online? Really creepy! Where are all the “don’t tread on me” people, for real?! They helped spread this exact fear under a dem. Hypocrites these republicans!

Used to live in that shite hole.

I’m glad the man won the very obvious law suit. The people in that county get what they voted for.

    Fuck these Nazis.

The amount of payouts this country is going to have to make for all the corrupt racist bullshit is insane.

As an outsider it’s amazing how many Americans have absolutely abandoned everything they used to say they believed in, as long as it hurts someone else.  Could not be more pathetic.  Arresting this man for quoting the pedophile president is actually insane lol

Former Tennessee man, I would be using that money to move out of that shit hole state

  8. Add a zero to that payout and it would have been a lot more fair. Also, everyone who participated in that arrest and prosecution should lose their jobs and be permanently banned from public service.

It’s ridiculous that when Republicans hateful and violent gun talk is quoted back to them they immediately start arresting people. One of the worst things about this turn to fascism is the fascists are such tremendous pussies and wimps.

  11. The dollar figure should be much higher and the authority figures involved should be facing criminal charges. It was as clear of a first amendment violation there has ever been.

Man: I was improperly jailed and prosecuted.

Response: Here’s less than a million.

Trump: They leaked my taxes that I promised to release for years.

Response: Here, have $10 billion, or a $1.8 billion slushfund for us investigating conspirators who tried to cheat the 2020 election.

  13. Good.

They incarcerated him KNOWING that they didn’t have a case. He lost his job, missed the birth of a granddaughter and wasn’t home for his wedding anniversary.

This is malicious prosecution under color of law. Everybody involved should lose their jobs.

    > The meme Bushart posted that prompted his arrest read: “This seems relevant today…” and featured President Donald Trump and the words, “We have to get over it.” That quote, the meme explained, was said by Trump in 2024 after a school shooting at Iowa’s Perry High School.

    > but residents were alarmed by the school shooting post, fearing Bushart was threatening a local school

How do people like this survive day-to-day life?

Biggest revelation in this article? Retired police officer somehow not a total POS.

  17. Can we get his money to come out of a certain orange clowns fund set up to protect people from having politics “weaponized” against him?
