I’m guessing that an expensive experienced lawyer may have stepped in and took their case pro bono. There’s probably a lawyer who’d have been motivated to represent them.

* Lucy Connolly: racially charged tweets, bad legal advice told her to plead guilty = sentenced to 2 years, 7 months in prison, served 10 months.

Admittedly im watching this from outside the UK, but what the fuck? Isn’t it clear as day, the most obvious guilty verdict going? We literally have crystal clear HD video evidence of them committing the crime, how is the jury undecided on this? Like evidence doesn’t get clearer than that
