I live fairly near to a council estate, parts of that estate are across the road from a leisure centre, play area, outdoor ‘gym’, green fields to play football on, a fishing lake… They had to get rid of the glazed bus stop right next to these facilities because it kept being trashed! The excuse for the damage is of course ‘we’re bored’.
Edit: forgot to add the kids blasting around dangerously on illegal e-bikes that are basically e-mopeds and those causing hassle in the precinct corner shop.

I feel sorry for the people that live there but this is NOT just because they haven’t got a youth centre or some swings.
These are thugs. They would still be thugs probably smashing up said places if they were there.
I used to live in a rough part of Brum and saw first hand the insane amount of money spent on those areas under the “hug a hoodie” ideology that was about at the time. It made no difference – the same areas were being wrecked by the same group – flowers torn up from planters, murals defaced, parks vandalised and people harassed.

Surprised they can afford mopeds. In the sinkhole estate I grew up on the local scrotes couldn’t afford vehicles so would ride around on the back of old men in a practice known as ‘git surfing’

Even if there is a community centre, the scrotes would wreck it. There was a community centre near me as a kid, ran by some wet-behind-the-ears, well-meaning but simple Christians.
It was a fiasco. People nicked the video games. Vandalised stuff. Spent the time having fights with people from rival schools. It lasted about four months until it folded.
Now, there was also a snooker hall near me that had a under 18s night every Wednesday. Nobody fucked about with that for the simple reason that the owner was a local hard nut and it was so obvious that the scrotes parents had told them not to fuck around or cause trouble there because they were terrified of the owner going round and kicking their heads in.
Community centres like that needs to be run by a hardnut. The scrotes will 1- respect them and 2 – the scrotes parents will actually get off their fat arse and do some actual parenting because the fear of the owner coming round to give them a thrashing will weight on their minds.

That particular co-op on the Willows is bad, always has a gaggle of like ten north face ninjas around the area, the tiny precinct its absolutely covered in litter and I genuinely don’t like shopping around there (I actually live on the willows but the more suburban part than council estate part)

Apparently they’ve ran out of cars to nick and they’ve started hijacking pedestrians and making them run around at terrifying leg speeds. All to often the pedestrian is their own Gran.
