  1. A federal judge has ruled that Trump can’t violate the Presidential Records Act just because he feels like it.

  2. Trump to White House staff: “Quick, destroy the documents and then pretend we heard the ruling too late. It worked with the East Wing, so it should work here.”

I am so tired of Trump. Never accountable for anything. It is getting really old

Thank fuck. The long arms of the law are about to catch up to him <bursts out laughing hysterically>

I can’t wait for a forensic check later to reveal millions of Signal messages and other correspondence that obviously and clearly violate the PRA. And I’m sure we’ll all still get the both sidesism relative to Hunter Biden’s laptop and Joe Biden’s garage. Because of course.

  6. Presidential records don’t belong to the president they belong to history and the public.

The fact a judge had to step in and remind the White House that official records can’t just disappear is a story in itself.

And how is the judge going to stop them? Is there a magical force field around these records until an injunction is filed to remove the indestructible barrier?

  8. It’s fucking abhorrent that Jack Smith never got his day in court and just a abhorrent that this country elected someone who couldn’t make it more obvious he’s a criminal

There shouldn’t be a neednfornthis ruling and there shouldn’t be a given that Republicans will just ignore it while pretending to care about law and order

  9. Don’t worry I’m sure Roberts is firing up the shadow docket as we speak.

“Trump doesn’t plan to keep any documents at his proposed presidential library, instead planning to make the Miami skyscraper more like a hotel as he doesn’t ‘believe in building libraries or museums.'”

Not surprised but what a strange, dumb stance to take.

This child rapist did it in his first term, what makes you think he cares?

This is ALREADY law. In fact there are two! One in 1950 for government records and another in 1978 for Presidential records because of Nixon. There shouldn’t have to be some additional order from a judge FFS!!!

  13. If the punishment for destroying records is at all lighter than the punishment for us knowing the truth, he will absolutely be destroying those records anyway.

    >Bates’s order takes effect on May 26

They can destroy a lot records in a week.
