Andrew Weissmann joins Sarah Longwell on launch day for his book ‘Liar’s Kingdom’—but first they discuss why Weissmann calls Trump’s $1.776 billion “anti-weaponization fund” an outright fraud on taxpayers. Then: why election lies are distinct even among Trump’s 30,000 lies, what Brazil and the UK do to stop them, and the publisher that vanished the day after a Trump executive order. Plus mob bosses in bathrobes.

Of all the many, many crimes he’s committed this sure is one.

Damned shame he has complete immunity for all official acts. Thanks Justice Roberts.

I miss the notional once upon a time when the oath of office to support and defend the constitution wasn’t an overt and blatant lie.

The crimes that trump and Blanche are committing are *embezzlement* and *collusive fraud*.

    >Courts find settlements to be fraudulently collusive when, for example, there is no real effort to defend against liability or to contest the exaggerated claim for damages. Fraud is found when, [for example](https://archive.is/o/M8X8b/https://www.bloomberglaw.com/public/document/SidmanvTravelersCasSur841F3d119711thCir2016CourtOpinion?doc_id=X1LDB4I30000N), the person presented with a claim was “willing to lie down and accept a judgment of any amount against it so long as it would not be on the hook to satisfy the judgment” and a “reasonable party would not be indifferent to the amount of a judgment entered against it were its own money on the line.” A key ingredient in finding collusive fraud is an agreement to pay an amount not “in any way tethered to reality”

Often corruption that is unprecedented isn’t yet a crime. But it will be.

  5. Next you’ll say that if Trump went to Fort Knox and took 12 tons of gold, that’d be a crime too. Sheeesh, such sticklers for the rules.

Hmm it’s almost like electing a convicted felon lifelong conman criminal rapist then giving him immunity from prosecution was a bad idea or something.
