Finally, something I have in common with Trump: if Don Jr. were my son, I’d suddenly remember I had “Iran stuff” that weekend too.

  2. Mind you, he has shown up at random people’s weddings **uninvited** but won’t go to his own sons.

They actually have a long history of issues

If I remember correctly Don had a lot of anger and hatred for his father for the way his mother was treated and their divorce

Then as he got older it became if you cant beat them, join them kind of thing

In another life Don Jr fronts an emo band

  4. But, seriously, don’t we all?

It’s probably the one and only thing where Trump is in step with the rest of the world.

There will be other Trump Jr weddings. He is busy… Money is not going to grift itself.

  6. Apparently he once told him at a Yankees game to “take off that Yankees shirt and put your fucking suit on”

I don’t think he ‘hates’ him. There’s simply no utility in him attending. Even if option ‘B’ is .0001% more beneficial to him, he will choose option ‘B’. Everything is transactional.

He is just carrying on a family tradition. Daddy trump hated him too.

I’ve got news for you. The President of the United States really, really hates everyone, but no on so much as himself when he is alone at night with no one to glaze his ego.

Just like his father did. Fred Trump once joked he “hoped his plane would crash..” while talking about Donald being on it.

Anecdote as told by Harry Hurt III for a 2016 magazine article about Trump (source below): “I ran into Fred at Coney Island, with his secretary-mistress, one day, and he usually went to a place called Gargiulo’s down in that area. But that was closed that day, and so I was with my researcher and we tailed them over to the original Nathan’s hot dog stand.

Donald was flying somewhere at the time, and we overheard Fred wipe some mustard off his lip, like this here, and he said, “I hope his plane crashes.”
And I looked at my researcher, and I said, “Did you hear what I just heard?” He said, “Yes, I did.”
I said, “Well, that’s my man. That’s Fred. The apple don’t fall far from the tree.” ”

Source- Michael Kruse with Harry Hurt III for Politico Magazine in 2016, titled “Trumpology: A Master Class”. Kruse interviewed several Trump biographers and observers about Donald Trump and his family background.

    He’s gonna go.

They are floating this out there to get stories like this going so that when he goes they can’t try to jab him in any way, because he’s going to fire back with “the evil media is attacking me for my son’s wedding, just like I said they would”.

  12. “It was Ivana who wanted to call their newborn Donald junior. ‘You can’t do that!’ Trump is quoted as saying in Ivana’s memoir, ‘Raising Trump.’ ‘What if he’s a loser?'”

  13. One thing I will never criticize Joe Biden for is the kind of father he was. And conservatives treated it as some weird, non-masculine thing. It’s so illuminating to see the difference between the kinds of fatherhood they see as valid and invalid.

I think it’s simpler than that. Trump won’t attend an event where he’s not the focus of attention.
