Why the hell would anyone ever wanna be a part of contemporary Russia. 10 years ago, it could make some sort of sense if you heavily disliked the west for some reason and were somewhere on the fascism-spectrum (from their perspective). But today you get the worst of two worlds, a war-mongering military-state without the strength or power. You could just as well move to Burundi.
