They wanted someone who could show their wickedness without remorse and this man shouted “here I am, send me”

It should change it’s name from Grand Old Party (GOP) to Corrupt Oligarch Republican Party (CORP).

  3. It was always heading this way. Trump is the reason they are in power and when he is gone the power vacuum he leaves behind will be politically crushing.

Who is going to fill the void? Vance, Rubio, Carlson?

Its going to be extremely difficult especially if the Democrats show the American people government can work.

All the GOP candidate political mail I’m getting is just “I support Trump”, “I’m endorsed by Trump”, etc with no actual policy anywhere to be found. It’s just a straight up cult at this point

The GOP adopted the Dixiecrat ideals in the Reagan era. Boehner and Ryan and let the “Tea Party” take over, completing the switch from modern values to pre Civil War values. The party continues to slide into absolute racism and misogyny with every step. Trump is the symptom, not the cause.

As for the weaponization find, Trump need not worry. No one need worry… in a week, two at the most, the Republicans opposing this find will shut up. Plus, other things will take over the news. After all, these were the republicans who were upset about Jan 6th and then soon forgot about that too.

  7. This has been incredibly obvious since any Republican opposing his coup was primaried in 2022.

My favorite description of the MAGA cult is “the last dying breath of the confederacy”.

  9. The amount of American cowardice and greed is astounding. This “Christian Nation” has raised nothing but abusers and grifters, to the detriment of us all. America is built to on a mountain of skulls, and the chickens are coming home to roost.

Trump will be gone at some point and Republicans will have created no path forward. But, that’s probably for the best.

  11. The conservative brain is primed for fear and hierarchy.

Trump is just the latest in a long line of bullies, and is just much more obvious and boorish about it.

Reagan is still held up as a gold standard of conservative ideology, and his administration was largely responsible for the destruction of the middle class and the backsliding of major social safety nets and protections.

When Trump eventually goes away, either through election or other reasons, conservatives will just latch on to the next carnival barker who talks a big game.

Trump is a symptom, not the underlying disease.

That’s not totally fair. They also firmly stand for tax cuts for the rich

Didn’t start out that way, but it sure became very cult like pretty quickly. At first many republicans were against Trump and accurately called him out as a con man. Then he won and they decided power was more important than good governance.

  14. No, it’s a terrorist organization. And the fact that democrats can’t even bring themselves to acknowledge this speaks to how much trouble we are in.

Cassidy should have known he was going to lose his seat. Why he hasn’t spent the last 18 months doing what is right by conscience shows the measure of a man he is. I respected him as a physician and a man who vote to convict. No more.

  16. Alright guys. We were here in 2016. It’s been 10 years already. Can MAGAts accept that they are a cult?

If one person becomes the entire platform, then it’s less of a party and more of a personality movement

I think it’s not honestly what it is.

The average trump voter for sure is in a cult.

But the people running the party and controlling the party hate trump but love what he lets them do. They are grifting the fuck out of this country and using the power trump gives them with his idiotic voting base to reshape the country into a machine that benefits them and their economic class.

  19. Well, he got a few agendas to follow and he has been following them. Whence the agendas?

Yes….and? What is anyone going to actually do about it? Scratch a liberal and a fascist bleeds. Libs perform. Leftists take action. We need to get more folks on our side.

Grifting, enabling criminals just like the majority of politicians. Until the rot in American gov’t is gone, nothing will ever change.

  22. I think a lot of them despise him. But he controls their reelection and evidently they are willing to bury their ethics and morals and duty to their constituents for personal greed. So they can go fuck themselves. Hope they never have a good night’s sleep for the rest of their miserable lives.

The cult of tRump, the cult of Newt, the cult of Reagan, the cult of Nixon, the cult of Goldwater. Never a party, always a person. The quilt of the cult.

The arc of the Republican Party is long but it bends towards corruption.

I always used to have at least a few Republican friends. My last partner, RIP, was a Republican supporter. But he’d be without a party today. There’s no way he’d put up with this crap. And if I so much as notice a Republican on my property now I’d turn the hose on’m. Get off my American lawn!

  24. We’re just recycling the same revelations and shock that we’ve been having for years and years.
