If Pocock and Ryan are out then it might be worth a look.

I think many of those centrist voters went to Labor at the last election (taking them from 4.77m to 5.35m primary votes), so I’m not sure if the insertion of a new party would be more of a risk to Liberals or Labor in reality.
That said I think the duopoly no longer represents the interest of most Australians and change is inevitable.

I think it’s going to be yet another false start.
Too many of them have said that they’re open to working *with* one, but not be *in* it. Monique Ryan, Kate Chaney and Helen Haines have all ruled themselves out.
None of the remaining moderates in the LNP have been willing to defect, at least not publicly at this stage.
If anything, looks to be a “Sydney Centre Liberal” grouping, probably hoping to continue their spread up the north shore.
Monique Ryan wouldn’t belong in this grouping. Pocock has nothing to do with them, they are moderate LNP representatives not progressive left wing as the Murdoch media claims.

doesnt this just confirm all the attacks levied against these independents in the past? that theyre basically already a party being used against the liberals on climate policy and other progressive issues.

[Here’s a previous attempt a few years ago for anyone that’s curious](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TNL_(political_party)).
