It’s a prime spot and a lovely home that will make Canadians proud that their PM has a distinguished place to live and entertain foreign leaders. $100 million is chump change considering how much money the govt. pisses away on useless shit all the time.

There isn’t anything really special about that house. When I worked on the hill, it was well known that there are nicer homes not far away.
Knock the old thing down, put up something that has better security features, and place it within the scope of the NCC for ownership and maintenance.
All for less than $100 mill.

Maybe I’m in the minority but I think it’s needed and something we should invest in. 24 Sussex Drive, isn’t any one person’s home, it’s the home of the Prime Minister and it’s a source of pride and history that’s needed for foreign leaders visiting

At this point, we all know it needs to be done, surely there has to be a non partisan committee that makes the recommendations on what is needed, and then the government just funds whatever the committee recommends and oversees? As long as the PM and government is kept out of decision making it should be a non issue
