This administration sucks at many things and the law is a big one.
It turns that out the loyalty is not a substitute for competence.

I am really curious how much this administration has spent trying to deport this one person.

its simple – sue the DOJ and settle for 1.8 billion and immunity from immigration enforcement

They just can’t take the L. What a waste of taxpayer resources. Does this guy now have a case against the government? This is getting very expensive. And embarrassing.

The problem here is there is a case of Kilmar to be a an asylum victim after the trump admin made the elsalvador government put a target on his back.
Hes countryless and needs to be in limbo til the trump admin is out of office

Hmmm. Spiteful.
Sounds about right for the current administration.

they really treat due process like it’s optional whenever it becomes politically convenient

the amount of energy they put into deportation while regular americans can barely afford groceries is insane lol

They have the persistence of one of those shits that’s too big for the pipes, so it just spins with each futile attempt and remains in the bowl, a big, smirking, unflushable shite extending its middle finger at you (yes, poos have fingers. Look it up): that’s trump; that’s maga; that’s america.

Quick question: eould Kilmar qualify for the 1.8b slush fund? Or do you have to be white?

Can he just come on up here? We have beer and playoffs?

Does anybody lose sight of the fact that this is a person, with a life and a family, just trying to live like the rest of us, that has been targeted by the full weight of the United States government, demonizing him and putting every single resource into deporting him.
Does this make you feel sick? How do you feel if it doesn’t?

They’ll probably hound this poor dude and his family for the rest of their lives. Republicans are nothing if not petty.

his case is a terrifying preview of what happens when the executive branch decides federal court orders are merely optional.
Garcia has a valid withholding of removal order, no criminal record, and a U.S. citizen wife and kids. Yet ICE has tried to deport him to El Salvador, then tried to keep him imprisoned there, then tried to jail him on trumped-up criminal charges, and is now trying to deport him to Uganda or other third-party nations just to avoid admitting they violated a judicial order. When DHS openly releases statements saying a resident ‘is not going to remain in our country’ despite multiple active federal injunctions telling them to stand down, we are looking at a straight-up constitutional crisis
