  1. Are people using social media really been killed by it at the same rate as people are killed by smoking?

Why aren’t parents doing more by refusing their children access to this stuff?

Get rid of stuff like autoplay, infinite scroll, hide likes and view counts for people etc

I’d argue changing the algorithm but I can see that being a major issue

And because social media is bad for kids, we’ll all have to show our ID to our phones to access social media.

Most kids in Australia have already figured out ways to access social media despite the ban. So kids are still accessing harmful content while law-abiding people put their personal identities in jeopardy from hackers.

‘Save the children’ is how we set up a tech surveillance and monitoring society. Imagine what a right wing authoritarian government would do with this ability.

And all the while, kids will still freely access social media.

    Bans. Don’t. Work.

The submission from the doctors seem broader than social media, referring to screentime and toddlers being given iPad. It even refers to things that are already tackled by the OSA. Those things aren’t in the scope of or be solved much by social media restrictions.
