  1. As a swede i would call this a win win. Both the fact that Ukraine gets more jets, the Gripen can be tested in real time to make improvements and for newer airplanes later on, not only that but also the fact that every Russian drone, missile and plane being shot down by Ukraine is one that can’t threaten us and our allies

On the surface I applaud this.. but this will add more complexity to the Ukrainian AF. Now they will be flying 3 different Western fighters, made by 3 different countries. Thats in addition to the Soviet era Migs and SUs they have.

Sucks that the U.S. turned out to be a douche partner, would have been best for Ukraine to just standardize on the F-16. Yes, not as capable as a late model Gripen, but available in quantity and would streamline logistics and training.

This is fantastic news, depending on the numbers it could allow the Ukrainians local air superiority in some regions, forcing Russian CAS back. I wonder how many of the E models the Ukrainians will get in the future. The E might just be the best 4th generation model plane on the market, especially for the type of war Ukraine is fighting.
