Dentist here, the discussion around adding dental to medicare is nuanced and difficult. Dentists are split on what should happen, however a limited form of addition like the child dental benifit scheme for all or limited to older years has been modelled showing great improvements in health outcomes and decreased economic burden to hospital system. The research and advocacy is primarily being done by AProf Matt Hopcraft from Melbourne Uni (he of masterchef fame).

Then occasionally a story about, “great, now we will never be able to solve CANCER, thanks LABOR.”
