It’s absolutely mental that you are allowed to carry a knife for religious reasons, needs addressing. They can wear a plastic one or something

  2. Good. Get the officers charged with criminal negligence and manslaughter next. Disgraceful conduct.

  3. Let’s not forget that when the police arrived they handcuffed Henry Nowak will he was bleeding out. Apparently a unverified comment was more of a crime than stabbing someone. This country has turned into a absolute circus

  4. I’m confused. Is he guilty of murder or manslaughter? Has this yet to be decided?

“Stabbing a person to death” is not a specific crime to be found guilty of. It’s the act which informs the conviction.

Additionally, zero word on the police facing charges for their actions?

Give it a few days and Tommy Robinson’s lot will be going after the Sikh community too, basically already started looking at some of these comments.

One isolated, awful act of violence, claimed to be provoked by a racist incident, and people are calling for the whole family to be [“sent back to Punjab”](https://www.reddit.com/r/unitedkingdom/comments/1tq1qb5/comment/oocwxob/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=mweb3x&utm_name=mweb3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button).

    Deafening irony.

    good

still dont get why the officers didnt even bother to check the guy when he said he’d been stabbed

The thing I don’t think is quite clear is what triggered the attack? was he on the lookout for a victim? was there an argument between them both? What was their exchange that caused him to pull out a 21cm blade and stab the lad 5 times? it doesn’t quite make sense!

As for the police, they need prosecuting for this!

  8. The only good news involving this horific story! Yet no justice will be served until the officers involved are also found guilty and consequently punished

Glad at the outcome, but this is not done yet. The police need to be held accountable and charged, after all, the country, police and government went mental over George Floyd, and this is a lot worse than that.

  10. Don’t know why but this reminds me of the Chris Kaba case.

There’s so much fear of being labelled racist that we’re willing to let stab victims die or prepared to jail to firearms officers who acted in self defense to avoid being called it.

  11. This case is absolutely horrific. Can you actually imagine how that poor guy felt in his dying moments, being arrested.

Shame on that mother for her first instinct being to try and cover up a murder

  12. ban “ceremonial” knives. there is no reason anyone should have an exemption to carry a knife.

The freedoms of an individual have to be balanced against the safety of the public and there is no way an exemption should ever be made for someone to carry a weapon.

Of course nobody is reading the article:

    > Mr Lobbenberg told the court that Sikhs are permitted by law to carry a kirpan knife, and that the discreet carrying of a small dagger under clothing was sufficient to meet the requirements of the religion.
    >
    > He then said the defendant “chose” to carry two knives, one under his clothing while the large knife which was used in the killing was on display.
    >
    > “This is a man who likes weapons,” the prosecutor said.

In other words this had nothing to do with whether the killer was Sikh or not.

  14. This whole case is beyond a sham and just shows what a clown world we live in. Everything is backwards.

  15. How did he get found guilty of possessing a knife in public when UK law states Sikhs are allowed to keep these knives on them for religious reasons?

  16. I never understood the judge saying whether it had to be discussed whether it was used in self defense

As far as I’m aware you can’t ever use a blade for self defense

I’m still confused how the ceremonial knife excuse is being used. I asked the met about carrying a sgian dubh when going to a wedding and they said to ensure it’s placed securely and can’t be accessed by anyone quickly, and that I’m wearing appropriate attire that carrying the thing had reasonable grounds (in my case, kilt, shirt, jacket, hose, flashes, sporran, etc.).

How is that not the case here? The Five Ks really don’t require a full blade either. A representation of the Kirpan is allowed, if I remember my RE from 20+ years ago.

And now because of his actions, the logical way forward is to ban ceremonial knives.

The fucking media just can’t help but lie / imply when they just don’t need to.

They write “He was filmed by his victim telling him “I am a bad man” moments before the knife attack” which makes you think he’s a wannabe gangster.

But it then goes on to say “In the video, played to jurors, Mr Nowak can be heard saying “Hello car” and singing to himself before yawning, with the footage then cutting to show Digwa walking away from him. Mr Nowak is then heard saying: “Innit bad man, what bad man. You’re a bad man, say you’re a bad man, go on.”

Digwa replied: “I am a bad man.”

Which doesn’t excuse anything but does add a different angle to him saying what he did.

Why can’t they just report? It’s just so unnecessary.

So what about the officers involved that called henry a liar when he told them he had been stabbed? and basically left him to bleed out?

  21. “It is a tragedy that officers did not immediately understand what had happened to Henry. I’m sorry that he had been handcuffed and arrested as he lost consciousness. I don’t want to hide the facts. I want people to understand the full facts,” France said.

Then release the body cam footage

  22. I had to go to to the BBC to find out he was found guilty of murder.

“Guilty of stabbing to death” could mean anything.

  23. BookmarksBrother on

    >**Police apologise after Digwa ‘lied to’ officers**

    >Mr Lobbenberg said that Digwa told a “wicked lie” to police about being a victim of a racist attack and that he “lied” by saying he had not stabbed Mr Nowak.

Wait, are criminals allowed to lie to the police?

  24. Now the police need investigating for handcuffing him, rather than getting him medical help.

  25. Material_Knee_7799 on

Why in every one of these threads is there always one poster, defending the fuck out of a convicted murderer and slandering the murder victim.

Every fucking time on this shit hole sub.

    Absolutely disgusting behaviour

This place needs to start taking out its trash.

  26. So wait a minute, Nowak gets stabbed 5 times and on top of that was placed in handcuffs rather than immediately receiving medical attention because the pos claimed Nowak had been racist and attacked him. Nowak then promptly collapses while still in handcuffs and dies.

Police chief: “sorry y’all that we put him in handcuffs and then he died”

Great. I guess the country and the police have learned nothing at all from the grooming gangs and the Manchester Arena bomber and everything else since.
