**Liberal Democrat Leader Ed Davey has unveiled a billboard campaign across the UK to mark the 10th anniversary of the Brexit referendum today (23 June). The billboards call out Reform leader Nigel Farage’s £5 million ‘reward for campaigning for Brexit’, whilst people across the country feel the pinch.**
Speaking at a rally in front of a billboard in London, Ed Davey announced a takeover of advertising spaces in cities across the UK to highlight the devastating legacy of the botched Brexit deal on the cost of living bill. Billboards are also being unveiled in Edinburgh, as well as Andy Burnham’s backyard in Manchester, with the party challenging the likely future Prime Minister to immediately drop the Brexit red lines if he takes office.
The billboard campaign highlights how ordinary families across the UK are facing skyrocketing household bills in the aftermath of Brexit, all while taxpayers face a £90 billion hit every year.
Ed Davey argues that the only person to profit from Brexit is Nigel Farage who has walked away with a £5 million payout he described as his reward for Brexit.
**Leader of the Liberal Democrats, Ed Davey said:**
“After ten years of the Conservatives’ Brexit experiment, the British public have had enough. We are the ones who have had to pay for their lies.
“Nigel Farage pocketed a £5 million ‘reward’ for the damage he’s caused, while the rest of us are paying for it dearly. When he promised we would be better off, he clearly only meant himself.
“We are taking over billboards across the UK today to say enough is enough.
“Our message to Andy Burnham and the rest of Labour is clear: drop the damaging red lines on Europe, and drop them now. It’s time to end the chaos and fix our broken relationship with Europe.”

Is this a soft launch for Lib Dems to pledge to rejoin? It’d be a huge vote winner in the next GE if they had the guts to go for it.

Can’t they give us reasons to support them instead of just attacking another party leader?

He was acting like a petulant child (more so than normal) in his interviews this morning.
It’s very entertaining to see him grilled for a change but also maddening you know it’ll be so few and far between.

He always comes across as confident no matter what he says. After his latest round of interviews, where he’s been questioned about this you can tell he doesn’t know what to say or do. The media and other political parties need to stick it on thick with this. We can’t be having (potential future PMs) getting absurd ‘gifts’ in exchange for ‘nothing’. This isn’t even against any reform policy, it’s against democracy if our politicians are bought and paid for.

We need to see a shit load more coverage of the Lib Dems. They have 71 MPs, but Farage and Reform get all the media coverage with their pathetic 8.

All well and good but the lib dems kicked off the spiralling descent into brexit and even have a minister from that tory government as leader and have never apologised for it

Has anybody done a look at the donors wealth increase since then, would love to see what the £5m was in terms of commission rate.

Wait a damn second, Lib Dem’s actually being a bit aggressive for once?
Do it more often, get on the attack more ffs.

This is a great time to be doing this. There’s nothing else in the news about UK politics.

If ever there was a poster child for the corrupt nature of British politics it’s Farage. Best of luck to the Lib Dems if they think any accusations will stick to that slimy toad.

What about Ed the clown 🤡 Davey’s reward for screwing the Post Masters over!
For what it’s worth, I live in the only Borough in Kent to be Lib Dem not Reform at one point (too hot and tired to check that’s still the case), and I’ve been really impressed by our MP especially through a recent and ongoing water crisis.
TLDR: Our Lib Dem MP is good.

How much more proof do British people need that Brexit was bankrolled by wealth elites who had very selfish reasons to want Brexit?
It had fuck all to do with the EU being “bad” for UK… Because it wasn’t bad for the UK. The people who told you to vote leave know that.

This is pretty poor imo, it’s an ad hom and I doubt it will land with anyone except those who already dislike Farage – which will feel good I’m sure but not actually help get votes.
That £90bn is nonsense too but it’s no surprise the Lib Dems, who have been in fantasy land about the EU since about 2017, would be trying to play that card.
If you actually want to become the Rejoin Party again, as another poster has it, you need more than this.

With all the new parties popping up I had genuinely forgot the lib dems existed

They’ve misspelled “[bribe to stop Britcoin costing his donor millions](https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2026/jun/18/nigel-farage-trying-block-britcoin-crypto-plans-bank-of-england-christopher-harborne)”
