Let the struggling and crying begin.

How about they’re based on the Minsk treaty?

  2. Is ruSSia suddenly willing to negotiate?
    They must be hurting badly…

In other words, you are doing damn good job, UAF, keep going for another 6 months. Then it will be “based on 2022 border”… another 6 months and it might get to the 2014 borders…

For context, during the Istanbul 2022 peace talks, Putin demanded the following (this list does not intend to be exhaustive or indicative that the Russians were acting in good faith):

    – Ukraine becomes a ‘neutral country’, prohibited from ever joining NATO

    – Russian must be recognized as Ukraine’s ‘second language’

    – International security guarantees were to be given to Ukraine, but the Russians demanded that these guarantees could only be evoked unanimously, i.e. that Russia could single-handedly veto an international coalition to protect Ukraine

    – Demanded that the Ukrainian armed forces consist of no more than 85,000 personnel, with prohibitions on certain weapons systems

    – Several domestic Ukrainian laws dealing with Soviet-era history were to be revoked

  4. So not fully ready, then?

That’s okay, Ukraine isn’t fully done yet, either. We’ll see how much more ready Russia is able to get.

They can be based on anything __after__ Russia gets out of the 1991 borders

  6. If Ukraine can keep things at their current level, Russia will playing swan lake in no time.

  7. There ARE NO Istanbul agreements. There was a russian proposal which amounted to Ukraine’s capitulation which was rejected and that was that.

  8. If I’m Ukraine I keep hammering the piss out of their fuel supply and see what he says in a few months…

At that point his own citizens may hate him more than Ukraine does

How about no! how about you take your army and ride it east, and turn over every commander and soldier guilty of war crimes to The Hague.

Why the fuck are you still trying to dictate terms war criminal? Who said you could leave your safe space comrade?

You are desperate for a deal as you see Crimea slipping back into Ukrainian hands very quickly and you’re helpless to stop it. Like you’re helpless to stop the daily drone attacks destroying your energy infrastructure.

By which they mean “We want to keep everything and pull out with no repercussions and maybe attack again in a couple of years.”

  12. How to say you’re not ready for negotiations without saying your not ready for negotiations.

  13. Demon_Gamer666 on

    Uh yeah… no.

Fuck you russia. Pack up your shit and leave Ukraine, how’s that for a peace deal?

  14. Beginning_Ad_6616 on

Losers don’t get to make demands…Russia would have been fine if they stopped using paranoia to justify meddling with and invading neighbors.

  15. You mean back when Ukraine was stunned by the initial invasion, and had little options? LMAO.

Ukraine has all the cards now.

So Putin is stuck in a quagmire with no way out and is trying to score a face saving win at a negotiating table using terms already rejected by Ukraine???

    That’s adorable…

It’s also a further acknowledgment of a weakening russian position. Russians are publicly complaining about conditions in ways they would never have dared to in the past. The millitary has made no territorial gains, and the country continues to see its infrastructure go up in flames. Putin desperately wants to demonstrate to the world russian millitary prowess with a decisive millitary victory in the field, but instead, every day his war continues without conclusion is another demonstration of russian impotence.

And russia invokes a 21 year long war against Sweden as a sign of their resolve?

    Really???

That great northern war was fought in 1700-1721, and russia needed the help of Denmark, Norway, and Poland just to beat Sweden, and it still took them 21 years to do it. That just shows a long history of incompetence.

Russian promises are worthless, as they ignore all the previous security guarantees and acknowledgements of territorial sovereignty made by russia the past. Putins only offramp now is a U turn back to moscow.

“After losing one million men, seeing Moscow burn, and pushing our society to the brink of revolt, we have graciously decided to accept an unconditional surrender.”
And that, boys and girls, is what alcohol abuse does to your brain.
