Slate Auto’s electric truck starts at $24,950 with 205 miles of range. It sits at roughly half the average price of a new car in the US, which now hovers around $50,000. The truck uses a 65 kWh LFP battery feeding a rear motor with 181 hp. First deliveries are expected by the end of this year.

  1. I really want one. Not ready to buy any new car at the moment, but I really want one…

Good on them for increasing the base range. That really starts to hit a sweet spot now. This is pretty compelling now, if you consider the next generation of battery may get 250-300 in a few years.

Ugh, dang. I’m going to be the guy in the friend group with a truck.

LFP chemistry is huge. This truck should have hundreds of thousands of miles in its lifespan.

My LFP equipped Model 3 is at 207k miles and battery is 90% state of health.
