Does she still insist that it’s the liberals who are radical and violent?
Dazzling-Volume4553 on
Still don’t believe her motives are well intentioned but it’s hard to say she didn’t answer the criticism the way you would want or expect a politician to:
>On Sunday, Greene appeared on CNN’s “State of the Union,” and host Dana Bash couldn’t help but call the lawmaker out.
>“Obviously, any threats to your safety are completely unacceptable. But we’ve seen these kinds of attacks or criticism from the president at other people; it’s not new,” Bash began. “And with respect, I haven’t heard you speak out about it until it was directed at you.”
>“I think that’s fair criticism,” Greene responded. “And I would like to say, humbly, I’m sorry for taking part in the toxic politics. It’s very bad for our country, and it’s been something I’ve thought about a lot, especially since Charlie Kirk was assassinated.”
>She continued, “I’m only responsible for myself and my own words and actions. And, I am committed, I’ve been working on this a lot lately — to put down the knives in politics. I really just want to see people be kind to one another, and we need to figure out a new path forward that is focused on the American people.”
I mean, isn’t that how Republicans operate? Don’t care about thing until they’re personally affected.

At first, I was feeling the transformation. People deserve to be able to change and admit they were wrong.
That said, there has not been enough time elapsed in which MTGs actions/consequence ratio has balanced.
I do not think she should be murdered. I think death threats and fear are the worst parts of our politics and world. Truly a cancer to be eliminated. However, she perpetuated this very mechanism and the inertia is coming right for her. That sucks. I hope she is not harmed but she has herself to blame right now.

Always thought the old adage ‘the enemy of my enemy is a friend’ was too simple. There is nothing wrong with working with an enemy against another, but they are still the enemy in the end.
I think MTG is a lot smarter than I’d previously thought. She might have even grown since she first came on the political stage and seen some of her previous actions as counterproductive, at least.
She is making a play for the future of the right. Trump has a peculiar charisma that enabled him to form a broader coalition than any republican could in the recent past. The recent election offered yet another example that a sizable part of that coalition is here just for Trump.
Trump is an old man in questionable health and barred from running for president again. When he has retired to the great Mar-A-Lago with beachfront views of the lake of fire, the party will have to reckon with where to go next.
Right now, a lot of the big wigs are aiming to become the next Trump but none of them have that peculiar charisma. None of them can be Trump and will Trump’s name even be worth anything after three more years of this shit?
MTG is aiming for a spot on the other side of the coming republican civil war. She’s bucking Trump because she thinks the future party will try to ignore him if not bury him and any allegiance to him.
Now, in the future when his name is reviled even on the right, she can say she opposed him… while playing down all the years when she guzzled his cock like the rest of the sycophants.

The *sole* value of conservatism is respect for and obedience to [one’s perception of] traditionally established hierarchy, and hierarchy dictates that those on top (in-groups) are rightfully idolized and receive privileges, credibility, and resources, while those on the bottom (out-groups) are demonized/dehumanized and/or bound by restrictions, scrutiny, and lack of resources.
To them, the second-greatest injustice imaginable is for those [they perceive to be] on the bottom [of social hierarchy] to have access to the rights, credibility, and resources reserved for those on top. The first greatest injustice is for those on top to be bound by the restrictions, scrutiny, and lack of resources reserved for those on the bottom.
While “know your place” is their mantra, each and every single one of them truly believe that they are among the in-group, and so long as they continue to participate in the demonization/dehumanization of an out-group will their own place be secure. They never realize that security is a privilege far above their station until it’s too late.
